Thanks For Your Support

I just wanted to take the time to thank everyone who has read and enjoyed GhostGoal over the past 5 months.

It is strange to think that 6 months ago the concept of this site was little more than a half-baked idea being thrown around by a couple of clowns who had never written anything longer than a text message. Now we are proud to say that the blog analysts Wikio  have ranked GhostGoal the 32nd Most Influential Football Blog in the UK & Ireland, and the 41st Most Influential in all sports.

To put this into some sort of context we now stand 8 places behind Tim Vickery’s BBC blog. A scary thought.

Further to this, the Twitter account is going from strength to strength and, all being well, GhostGoal will reach 1,000 followers this weekend. For any of you who don’t use Twitter, it’s a great opportunity to gain an insight into the views of players, pundits, journalists, scouts and bloggers from all over the world with most of them happy to interact with anyone on a daily basis. If you’re interested you can follow us here and take it from there.

For any new visitors, welcome to the site. Here is a selection of some of the most popular pieces over the past 6 months:

Tactics at the World Cup – A Look Back and Forth

The Trouble with English Football – The Mark Burke Story

Yugoslavia ’87 – The Real Golden Generation
